Introspective #4 – Photography Without Social Media

Welcome to Introspective #4, featuring a YouTube Video by First Man Photography “Adam Karnacz” presenting a case for; Photography without Social Media. Hopefully, you also find this video a worth while listen.

Is Social Media really just;
  ■ an addiction
  ■ exploiting photographers through their terms of service
  ■ an algorithm that does not favour your still images being seen
  ■ taking a lot of energy for little in return
  ■ negatively effecting our well being

What if you were to step away from Social Media, how could that action possibly have a positive impact on your life, and result in giving some thought about how and where Photographers should share their art; a web site you control, and getting back to producing your work in the physical world in the form of print could be part of the answer.

I have been following “Adam” for many years now and find his content positive and thought provoking, and I hope you will as well. Here is a link to Adam’s (First Man Photography) YouTube Channel.

Introspective #1

From time to time I come across a YouTube Video that resonates and makes me step back and think more deeply about my photography. I have titled this post as Introspective, “examining one’s own thoughts and feelings”, #1, thinking that as I come across these unique and informative videos that I would share them with you as well.

These two videos are basically about creativity, burn out, and getting back to what we love about Photography irrespective of the video titles. I hope that these videos provide you with as much insight and thought as they have for me.

The First YouTube Video by: Peter McKinnon is about struggling with burn out, creativity and reconnecting with why you got into photography in the first place. I have been following Peter on YouTube for a quite a while now and always find his content very informative. Here is a link to Peter’s YouTube Channel.

The Second YouTube Video by: William Patino is about refreshing your portfolio and about inspiration. I just started following William’s YouTube channel just from my impression of this video. Here is a link to William’s YouTube Channel.
