We are currently offering Two (2) Instructor Led Interactive in-person Workshops; Spring 2026 Digital Photography 101 & Fall 2026 Digital Photography 102 which consistently receive A+ student reviews.

Six (6) Week in-person Workshop plus three (3) Field Trips

2. Fall 2026 – Digital Photography Workshop 102 – Techniques & Composition

Six (6) Week in-person Workshop plus three (3) Field Trips
Cost $115 per person
Wednesday evenings 6:45pm – 8:45pm Sep 30, 2026 through Nov 4, 2026 plus three (3) Saturday on location Field Trips

Our private sessions are focused on what you want to learn via an initial discussion, then create a plan with supporting material to achieve your goal. We then get together for your in-person session. Some example topics include; how to work with your camera, photography techniques, composition, and/or software related topics such as; ©Adobe Lightroom and ©Adobe Photoshop.

The cost for private individual (on-on-one) session is @$35/hr, we can tailor a session(s) to meet your needs. Any private session can be held in-person, or remotely via Zoom. To discuss your private workshop please contact us directly at info@dibphoto.ca or via our contact form. Each private session requires booking a minimum of two hours which also involves homework prior to the session.

How the private sessions work:

  1. Included, initial 1/2hr zoom meeting to identify what you want to learn
  2. Agree on a time and place for the in-person session
  3. Send payment via an e-transfer, for 2hr ($70) min session fee, to payment@dibphoto.ca
  4. You’ll receive homework material via email to complete before the session
  5. Meet for the 2hr one-on-one in-person session
  6. Included, follow up 1/2hr zoom meeting to answer any questions you may have
  7. Automatic enrolment to participate in our Monthly Photo challenges for a period of 12 months

Description: The Digital Photography Workshop 101 is the first of a two-part series consisting of six in-person classroom sessions plus three on location field trips focused on learning how to make better images. Intended for the beginner, this course sets the foundation on topics such as; exposure, aperture, shutter speed, ISO, exposure compensation, metering modes, including camera settings, and is for anyone not happy with their photos.
This workshop includes; instruction, hands on learning, weekly assignments and on location field trips. Student images are reviewed during the in-person sessions providing positive feedback to help everyone improve their photography.

Prerequisites: computer literacy on topics such as; files and folders, how to use email, an understanding of google drive, pdf reader, and how to get your photos from your camera to your computer.
The camera requirement for this workshop is the use of a DSLR, Mirrorless, or Bridge camera with manual control. No post-processing software is required, however an understanding of Microsoft photos app or Apple Mac iphoto app is beneficial.

Field Trips
There are three (3) field trips to practice what you’ve learned during the in-person sessions focusing on how to achieve a proper exposure and one on one help from the instructor. Each field trip takes approximately 2 – 3 hours.

There are weekly assignments intended to help reinforce the in-person sessions as well as image submissions from the field trips.

We concentrate on techniques and composition intended for the beginner to intermediate photographer, who wants to learn more about understanding light, colour, resolution, controlling your camera in different situations, introduction to post-processing, self assessment and what to do with your photos. This course includes; instruction, hands on learning, weekly assignments and on location field trips. Student images are reviewed during the in-person sessions providing positive feedback to help everyone improve their photography.

Prerequisite is the Digital Photography Workshop 101 or already has similar knowledge.

The camera requirement for this course is the use of a DSLR, Mirrorless, or Bridge camera with manual control. Post-processing software used during the workshop is Photoscape X (free version).

Field Trips
There are three (3) field trips to practice what you’ve learned during the in-person sessions focusing on how to achieve a proper exposure and one on one help from the instructor. Each field trip takes approximately 2 – 3 hours.

There are weekly assignments intended to help reinforce the in-person sessions including; learning how to create a calendar, as well as image submissions from the field trips.
